Veovo has been selected by Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to deliver a modern slot coordination capability, working in partnership with OneAlpha. The initiative will enhance how constrained capacity is coordinated right across the airport, supporting clearer engagement and stronger alignment with airline partners.

The combined solution brings together a specialist slot coordination platform with Veovo’s airport operations expertise. With the new system, SEA has a coordinated view of demand and capacity, supporting more informed scheduling decisions and more effective use of existing airport infrastructure.

A coordinated and transparent approach

The platform evaluates slot requests at a daily level and tests them against runway, apron and terminal capacity. By assessing demand day by day, the system exposes where constraints truly sit, enabling coordination decisions that reflect the whole airport rather than runway availability alone.

When capacity limits are reached, coordinators are alerted immediately and can either accept overages or propose alternative timings. This supports earlier, more informed intervention and reduces the risk of congestion emerging later in the operation.

Airlines can submit and track slot requests through a self-service portal, improving transparency and reducing manual coordination. All messaging is validated and processed in line with IATA Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines, with a clear audit trail for both the airport and airline partners.

Maximising capacity across the airport

By coordinating slots against apron and terminal constraints as well as runway capacity, the platform provides a more realistic picture of what the airport can accommodate. This supports better use of existing infrastructure and helps align schedules with how the airport actually operates.

Scenario planning tools allow SEA to model changes to terminal assignments, stand configurations or runway availability using live season data. Utilisation reports and heatmaps update in real time, giving planners clearer insight into how growth, seasonal demand or infrastructure changes affect capacity across the airport.

“We are pleased to work with SEA to support coordination and decision-making that reflects how airports actually operate,” said James Williamson, CEO of Veovo. “The focus is on delivering integrated airport environments that support a more resilient and holistic approach to managing constrained capacity.”

Summary

Seattle–Tacoma International Airport has selected Veovo, in partnership with OneAlpha, to deliver a modern airport slot coordination system that improves how capacity is managed across the airport.
